During this period, I felt alone in the city, which made me step back and look at things differently, away from my usual people images. So I started scaling buildings, asking for permission, and surprisingly I got such positive feedback and support from random strangers once they saw what I had done. I wanted to capture Nairobi from a bird’s eye view, in the evening, in the few minutes before the city transitions to night. To capture the beauty that we sometimes miss in our everyday rush and hustle. And in a way, show off what we would see if we just took time to breathe and appreciate what is around us.
