Terre antiche, energie nuove: Ussaramanna e Villanovaforru

Autonomous Energy Communities of Villannovaforru and Ussaramannna. ***GENERAL CAPTION: In the hills of Marmilla, in the hinterland of Middle Campidano Sardinia, one of Italy's very first and largest energy communities has sprung up. We are in Ussaramanna, a town of just over 500 inhabitants, surrounded by centuries-old olive trees and lush Mediterranean scrub. Here the municipal administration has bet on the renewable energy community as a tool to fight energy poverty, as well as to protect the environment. A promoter and financier of the project, the municipality has built two photovoltaic systems with the aim of reducing the cost of energy for its citizens: an 11 kW system on the roof of the Town Hall, and a 60 kW system on the roof of the Social Aggregation Center. A little more than 600 inhabitants in a town of Nuragic treasures, Villanovaforru is located about ten kilometers from Ussaramanna and, in addition to the surrounding area, is united with the neighboring town in the province of Medio Campidano by a responsive municipal administration, which has been able to seize an opportunity to provide a service to its community. Just as in Ussaramanna, the municipality here also wanted to combat energy poverty through the tool of the CER and covered all the expenses for the installation and maintenance of the photovoltaic system: 44.3 kW built on the gymnasium of the middle school in Via Argiolas.

Just as in Ussaramanna, the municipality here also wanted to combat energy poverty through the tool of the CER and covered all the expenses for the installation and maintenance of the photovoltaic system: 44.3 kW built on the gymnasium of the middle school in Via Argiolas.
