Carolina Sandretto is an Italian photographer with experience in nonprofit field and documentary photography. Carolina uses photography to explore universal themes such as time, memory and abandonment. Her research is based on the use of medium format analog photography. Thanks to the traditional technique, the photographic process becomes a creative mental process, and the image becomes a narrative. Carolina studied photography at ICP in New York and has an MFA from Hartford University. Her work has been exhibited in Italy, Spain, the United States and Thailand. She has published three books, “Cines de Cuba” in 2017 with Skira, “Cuba Vivir Con” in 2019 with Silvana Editoriale and “Internal, External Memories” in 2020, her first artist book. She lives and works between Milan and Paris.
