Alessandro Treves
Born and raised in a small village in the Piedmont mountains, at the age of 18 he moved to Milan to study pharmacy. He later decided to abandon his studies during an Erasmus project in Oslo, where he stayed and worked as an assistant in a photography lab. Shortly afterward, he was awarded a scholarship at the Istituto Superiore di Fotografia e Comunicazione in Rome, where he also worked as an assistant in Paolo Pellegrin’s studio. Today, his studio is based in Milan and he mainly works on editorial, fashion, and journalistic projects.
The stylistic hallmark of Alessandro Treves’ work is the pursuit of “Truth”: what he seeks to capture and communicate is that spark of authenticity that emerges from the personal history of the subjects he photographs. His approach to photography is free and democratic, rooted in reportage from his earliest work and carried through all of his projects: he doesn’t aim for the beautiful photograph, but the meaningful one.

Mattia Zoppellaro
He studied photography at IED in Milan from 1999 to 2002.
In 2003, after two years working in the Photography Department of Fabrica (Benetton’s communication research center), he moved to England, where he began shooting for various magazines and music labels. At the same time, he developed several personal projects ranging from social reportage (Irish Travellers, Kosovar Refugees, African Witch Hunters, Hackney’s Homeless, High-Security Prisons in Northeast Italy), to cultural themes (Religious Ceremonies in Southern Italy, Milan Sex Fair), and youth subcultures (European Rave Parties, Mexican Punks, Dakar’s Hip Hop Scene).
In October 2015, he opened his solo exhibition Heroes? at the Outdoor Festival in Rome. In March 2016, he opened his solo show Scratches at Traffic Gallery in Bergamo. In September 2017, he published his first book Appleby on the Irish Travellers, released by Contrasto. The same project was exhibited at Cortona On The Move (2016), Spazio Forma (September 2017), Portrait(s) Festival in Vichy (2018), and Traffic Gallery in Bergamo (2018). In March 2019, Appleby was shown at MIA Photofair in Milan. In January 2020, he exhibited the projects CCCP and Straight Outta Pikine at Arte Fiera in Bologna.
His images have been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London, Photo España, Cortona On The Move, Portrait(s) in Vichy, Paris Photo, the Italian Cultural Institute in London, and Fabrica in Treviso.
He currently lives between Milan and London.

Alessandro Treves
Nato e cresciuto in un piccolo paese delle montagne piemontesi, all’età di 18 anni si trasferisce a Milano per studiare farmacia, che decide poi di lasciare durante un progetto Erasmus a Oslo, dove rimane, lavorando però come assistente in un laboratorio fotografico. studio. La cifra stilistica del lavoro di Alessandro Treves è la ricerca del “Vero”: ciò che l’autore cerca di immortalare e comunicare è quella scintilla di autenticità che emerge dal bagaglio personale dei soggetti ritratti. Ha un approccio libero e democratico alla fotografia, fin dai primi passi mossi nel reportage e che mantiene in ogni progetto che affronta: non cerca la bella fotografia ma quella buona.

Mattia Zoppellaro
Studia fotografia allo IED di Milano dal 1999 al 2002.
Nel 2003, dopo 2 anni di esperienza lavorativa al dipartimento di Fotografia di Fabrica (il Centro di Ricerche sulla Comunicazione di Benetton), si trasferisce in Inghilterra dove inizia a scattare per diverse riviste e etichette musicali. Contemporaneamente realizza vari progetti personali, dal reportage sociale (Irish Travellers, Rifugiati Kosovari, Cacciatori di Streghe Africani, Senzatetto di Hackney, Prigioni di Massima Sicurezza del Nord-Est Italiano), di costume (Cerimonie Religiose nel Meridione, Fiera del Sesso di Milano) e sui movimenti giovanili (Rave Parties Europei, Punk Messicani, Scena Hip Hop di Dakar). Nell’Ottobre 2015 inaugura la mostra personale “Heroes?” all’interno dell’Outdoor Festival a Roma. Nel Marzo 2016 inaugura la personale “Scratches” alla Traffic Gallery di Bergamo. Nel Settembre 2017 pubblica il suo primo libro “Appleby” sugli irish travellers, edito da Contrasto. Lo stesso progetto viene esposto a Cortona On The Move nel 2016, allo Spazio Forma, dove inaugura nel Settembre 2017, al Festival Portrait(s) di Vichy (2018) e alla Traffic Gallery di Bergamo (2018). Nel Marzo 2019 espone al MIA Photofair di Milano il lavoro “Appleby”. Nel Gennaio 2020 espone a Arte Fiera di Bologna I progetti “CCCP” e “Straight Outta Pikine”
Le sue immagini sono state esposte alla National Portrait Gallery di Londra, Photo España, Cortona On The Move, Portrait(s) di Vichy, Paris Photo, Italian Cultural Institute a Londra, Fabrica di Treviso.
Al momento vive tra Milano e Londra.
